A bit about me...

My photo
Diane Higdem
Thanks to my dad, I experienced the outdoors, growing up in Montana and Idaho. Pursuing art through the years, I painted many scenes of nature and wildlife. It was hard expressing how they made me feel; to tell a story. It’s not just in the big picture; rather, it’s the supporting cast. In nature, I’m drawn towards patterns, textures and colors; delighting at finding a fish carcass under a bald eagle perch, or reflected ripples of light on the bottom of a weathered log. A craggy wilderness peak may be beautiful, a challenge to capture- but it was always the lichen and mosses on the rocks that caught my attention. Through photography, many avenues have opened; I wish I had found this art form earlier! As a teen, photographer/artist Lance Schelvan was a big influence on me. When I saw his paintings- I wanted to do that, to capture that magic! He’s a great artist in my book! I take my camera just about everywhere, had a few prints published, and recently, discovered pursuing the wildlife in Yellowstone. I may not get “money shots,” but I’m hooked! Thanks, Joey! Please, add your comments to pictures of interest. It’s still a learning process, and I appreciate your thoughts.
